Rooms

All rooms were renovated in 2003. We opened the rooms up enclosing the existing balcony area into useful internal floor space. We also upgraded the complete inventory of linen – sheets and towels, bought new spring mattress sets and designed wardrobes, side tables and mini-bar / tv units to minimize footprints and maximize the available floor space!

Each room has two single or one double bed, fridge, tv (with 50+ cable selections), air-con, wardrobe, towel hanger, tea and coffee making facilities, mini-bar selection, private ensuite bathroom with western toilet and instant hot water units, bedside table, reading lamp, small table and two chairs and a telephone with IDD access.

You should never pay more than 800 baht per night for a room at Seven Suns. We do have seasonal specials with discounts available in shoulder and low season and for longer stays over seven days. Seven is a reference number here at ‘the Suns’. We offer NGO discounts and other specials for Utopia members and other groups and membership organizations. Check out our listing on our specials and promotions page to see if you qualify. We also have monthly specials, e.g., 100 baht of the standard seasonal room rate for all bookings with names starting in P, so check with us for those rates.

Check room rates and vacancies by contacting us by e-mail at bookings@sevensuns.net.
You will hear back from us very quickly. We use an auto-responder at the moment – but we will also follow up as soon as we can to your queries.

Each room is identical in size and fittings, but during 2006 and early 2007, we went a little wild and painted themes into the rooms for your relaxation and enjoyment. Some of our themes are a little over the top, others mild, gentle and peaceful. No design it so outrageous that it will stop you having a good night’s sleep.

We clean the rooms every day during your stay (unless you have the do not disturb sign on your door) and change the linen (sheets and towels) every second day in respect for the environment (reduces water and pollution) – if this does not match your expectations – then inform our staff and we will clean to suit your needs.

Our theme rooms are outlined below, please tell us when you contact us if you have a room preference and we will do out best to accommodate. We prefer that you don’t smoke in our rooms, we have a lot of space downstairs in the open air where you can, but please let us know if you want to smoke and we will allocate you to one of our two dedicated ‘smoking permitted’ rooms.

Standard Rooms

All our rooms underwent extensive renovation in late 2003, with new en-suite facilities, freshly painted, new linen and wardrobe units, air-conditioning, cable television, mini-bar and IDD phone access.

In September and October 2006, we started redecorating rooms with a fun theme approach. We hope that you will enjoy the concepts displayed below.

New Room Themes

Hello Kitty
Another icon that you cannot escape in this region is Hello Kitty - now who would have thought that this small cat would take over the world the way it has.

And I apologise that we are not a Hello Kitty free zone, but we are restricted to only the one room!

The range of Hello Kitty paraphernalia is huge - Fender even make a Hello Kitty guitar, and some people who have lived in the region quote being able to purchase all items with Hello Kitty logos, and we have even seen Hello Kitty motor bike in Chiang Mai - keep your eyes open! read more >

Hats of Asia

Traveling around this part of the world you will see numerous traditional hats. In most cases they are as beautiful as they are practical.

The hats in this room are from around Thailand and Vietnam. You will seldom get on a plane from Vietnam for instance without seeing at least one of the famous conical hats as hand carry, and you need to take them as hand carry, for all their durability in the rice fields, they do not survive well the trials of baggage handlers! read more >
Bling Bling

You cannot go too far in this region without seeing 'bling' - so this is the Seven Suns tribute to BLING!

We did not go overboard, but if you want - we totally can!! Bring on the Bling - you tell us you want more and we can happily oblige. But what exactly is BLING? Where did BLING start?? How much BLING is too much BLING? Is BLING your THING? read more >

We love Wikipedia by the way!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bling-bling

Eclectic

The multiple themes in this room come from a variety of sources, the main features - the stars on the walls come from a book I bought years ago with decorating ideas - I can't believe I finally used a book I bought!!

Pop Art - "The term first appeared in Britain during the 1950s and referred to the interest of a number of artists in the images of mass media, advertising, comics and consumer products.  read more >
Ethnic Embroidery

Welcome to our tribute to the local minority crafts. You will see in this region similar embroidery from groups such as the Hmong, Dao, Tai and other groups. The tradition of weaving remains strong within these groups and their work is a popular souvenir for many travelers, a fabric swatch is a beautiful memento.

Importantly these samples are light to take home with you to use as you please, add it to a cushion, a pillow, frame it. read more >

Double Happiness

I lived for five years in Vietnam and if any of you have traveled there, then I am sure you are familiar with the symbol on our real Vietnamese silk. But please forgive me cause I am slightly unsure if I am looking at Longevity or Double Happiness – but either way – the best of both to  you!!

I searched the internet for meanings and found a lot about the Chinese symbols, but not for the use in Vietnam. read more >
1970's

Welcome to the retro room! Flashback! Please forgive our ‘wallpaper’. Hey so what happened in the 70’s anyway that made it so special?? Seems to me that ‘my generation’ looks back to the 70’s all the time, but for what exactly – afro hairstyles, cork sandals, flares!? But if Monty Python were the thing then, I am OK with the 70’s – bring it on.

Rainbow Room

Rainbows are different things to different people – a colorful celebration of our global diversity! Rainbows in art and photography -
A number of painters have depicted the rainbow. Frequently these have a symbolic or programmatic significance. (See, for example, Albrecht Dürer's Melancholia I.) In particular, the rainbow often appears in religious art.

Lucky Cats

Are you superstitious?? Then I am thinking that this room may not be the ideal for you and you should look at our other rooms so you may sleep better tonight! While I was surfing the internet – I found this great picture – the black cat version of ‘Foo was here’! So I thought of applying this around the room and then add some of the things that cats may play with – most commonly – the ball of wool.

Just Because

This is my tribute to all those things you do, just because….. You know – the flowers you buy for your partner, for no real reason other than you can, the smile you share with a passer by, a hug out of the blue. We really tend to live with too much control, we need to indulge our spontaneity more frequently. Well I really liked the abstract buffalo in the picture and also the color combination…..so I indulged……

The final room redecoration will be a theme focusing on the cards of Burmese paintings we have had framed – it will have gentle lavender tones. I have yet to think of the name for this room, but it will retain the most of the original design and color scheme.
